If you give a mouse a cookie, and how a small DIY became a bathroom remodel

If you get new bathroom sink faucets because the old ones are corroded, you’ll strip the drain hole on your sink and have to get a new sink/counter top.
When you go to the home improvement superstore to get a sink top, you’ll find that a sink top like the one you have is a special order, and will cost the same as completely replacing the entire bathroom vanity and sink/counter together.
When you purchase a new vanity and sink for one bathroom, you’ll want the other bathroom to match, so you get a set for the other bathroom as well.
Then you notice the drawer pulls on the new cabinets, and you’ll realize that all your bathroom hardware (tissue holder, towel rack, faucet, toilet handle) is mismatched.
So you’ll get matching hardware for both bathrooms.
When you remove the cabinets from your bathroom, you’ll realize the linoleum is complete crap, so you’ll need to replace that too. When you go back to the home improvement superstore you’ll learn that the flooring department is about to be re-designed, so if you see something you want, better buy it now.
So you get enough linoleum for both bathrooms so they’ll match, since the floors in bathroom 2 are likely crap too.
When you see the total cost of your two new bathrooms, you’ll wonder if the old faucets were really that bad after all.

"O LORD, you have searched me and you know me.
You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue you know it completely, O LORD."
Psalm 139:1-6 (NIV)
